Updated San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance Poster

Back to Blog
The San Francisco Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE) has released an updated Fair Chance Ordinance poster. This poster must be placed at each job site or workplace in a location where employees can read them easily. The notice must be posted in English, Spanish, Chinese and any language spoken by at least 5% of the employees at the workplace, job site or other location at which it is posted. According to the OLSE, the Fair Chance Ordinance poster may also be printed on 8.5" x 11" paper.

Employers with five or more employees – regardless of employee location – are subject to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance (FCO). As a reminder, the FCO regulates when employers may inquire into criminal history as well as what types of criminal history employers may consider in employment decisions. The FCO also imposes numerous requirements during the adverse action process.
